ABOUT US

The “Good Stock Out of St. Pete” Movement is an initiative operating under the umbrella of Tables of Purpose, Inc. a non-profit organization based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The concept was birthed with the desire to honor natives of St. Petersburg who were educated and reared in the city but have gone out into the world in various career paths and have found successes that bring light and notability to the city of St. Petersburg. The old adage that says, “Where did this child come from” has emerged in global settings often and the answer is “St. Petersburg, Florida”. Although St. Petersburg is considered a small oceanfront city on the West Coast of Florida, its residents have brought great value to the global market. We want to share this value with the youth currently matriculating in the city who may not have a clear picture of what natives have accomplished. Our inaugural event will occur during Juneteenth weekend, the Juneteenth Festival and Mentorship Expo will be held June 16 to 18, 2024. This event will highlight African Americans who are making St. Petersburg proud and have received awards for their accomplishments in the Arts, Medicine, Education, Sports and so much more; we’ll welcome them back home to honor them for their good works. On June 16 the festival will take place at William’s Park in Downtown St. Petersburg where the community will have the opportunity to support local entrepreneurs, seek familiar faces, and have a homecoming atmosphere while linking to resources in the city. On June 17 and 18, the mentorship expo will take place at Eckerd College, and this will be the most impactful element of the event. Youth will have an opportunity to attend career tracks and meet with the honorees who have done great work in their career fields and local resources who will be points of contact after the event. Our goal over the event is to inspire the future by equipping our youth with the stories, tools, and resources to go out and continue to bring value back to the city by helping the world witnessed “Good Stock Out of St. Pete”.
